Frequently asked questions

Can I study Spanish in Spain on a student visa?

Yes, if the school is authorised and the course is intensive and in person. Language-academy courses usually can't be switched to a work permit afterwards; university courses can.

Can I work in Spain on a student visa?

Yes, up to 30 hours a week in most cases, as long as it doesn't clash with your classes. Some courses need an extra step to activate work rights.

How much money do I need for a Spanish student visa?

100% of IPREM — €600 a month in 2026 — for the length of your course, plus extra for each family member who comes with you.

Can I stay in Spain after my degree?

University graduates can apply to switch to a work permit or a job-search permit. Planning this from the start keeps your options open.
